Going Round The Tourist Spots

My aunty from KL came down to Singapore for a holiday. So I had to take them around, jalan-jalan...like I know how to go about in the first place.

On Friday, went to Sentosa Island. Though it was my second time this year, I took the oppurtunity to visit all the attractions this time. The first time was with my parents and we just went round the island, didn't visit much.
This time, we bought a package which allowed us to visit the

1. Underwater World which features a tunnel through a large aquarium with sharks, huge sting rays, 2m long fish etc.

2. Fort Siloso, a preserved fort since WWII

3. Sky Tower, which allowed us to have a bird eyes view of the island

4. Cinemania, a virtual show with seats that moves. Didn't give any adrenalin rush at all!

5. The Merlion, tallest statue in SEA. Went right up to the top

and many other gardens. Forgot to mention that we took the cable car ride.

Then today, went to the Singapore River mouth. Took a 45 minute boat ride. Saw some very nice scenery along the river side. Skyscrappers next to colonial buildings which were very well preserved. Beautiful...if only I had my digicam. Too bad no pics. Only in my camera phone... or just click the buttons from the page link to this.

Later today, went Orchard Road. Nice Christmas decorations. Nice shopping...but a bit pricey. Walk till my feet could take it. It was swarming with people. Mad rush.

Well, tired after 2 solid days of sight seeing. Didn't get much rest since coming back from camp. k, need some siesta now. Another day of jalan tomorrow. ;)

May The Mind of Christ

Here's a song I'll like to share. It has really blest my heart.

May the mind of Christ , my Savior
Live in me from day to day
By His love and power controlling
All I do and say

May the Word of God dwell richly
In my heart from hour to hour
So that all may see I triumph
Only thru His power

May the Peace of God, my Father
Rule my life in everything
That I may be calm to comfort
Sick and sorrowing

May the love of Jesus fill me
As the waters fill the sea
Him exalting, self abasing
This is victory

May I run the race before me
Strong and brave to face the foe
Looking only unto Jesus
As I onward go

May His beauty rest upon me
As I seek the lost to win
And may they forget the channel
Seeing only Him

Back and Fired Up!

Wow! Had an awesome time in CF camp. Though there was only around 20 campers, fellowship was very warm indeed. Went there knowing just a couple of friends and now we're like a family of young adults. Thank God for all the people He gave in my life.

The teachings were eye opening. Studied the book of Jonah. Had workshops on Evangelism and Mission work. It has really challenged me to go out and share the good news with all I come in contact with. Well, can't possibly put all I learnt here. Tell you verbally better la!

The way things are run in the CF is very different from the way I'm used to in Gateway. But eventhough the emphasis is not on the Holy Spirit, but the Word, think a balance is needed.

Anyway, God has really spoken to me and shook me. Awake (spiritual eyes) and on fire. Hope it'll not be just head knowledge but put into action. YEAH!

Let's SHINE!

Barbaric Journey

Awesome weekend. Being a fan of war epics, went with Aaron, Allan, Wee Liem, Andrew and my brother to see Alexander the Great. High expectations, but came out rather dissapointed. Was told it was a gay movie. But wanted to see it for myself. Anyway, how bad can it be? Well, for crying out loud, its GAY!!! The acting, set and all were ok. Just didn't like the way the story was told. Collin looks almost ... weird in blonde.

Took the 4.oopm bus to Singapore on Sunday. Traffic was ok initially. We reach Johor checkpoint at 7.30pm and it was a massive jam. Cars were bumper to bumper, and we were moving by the inches. Bad...

Then at the Johhor customs, good thing the Malaysian passport lane was not too crowded. Only one of the auto gate was working. And the officers on duty don't seem to care less. What the
heck! Patience....

The causeway was even worse. People were walking across the bridge! For goodness sake that was how MAD the jam was. Patience...

Woodlands checkpoint was even worse. People were just swarming the whole place. I had to queue for almost an hour just to show my passport and walk through the customs. The crowd was outrages. They were just pushing from behind. One guy was telling his son, "Push, push". Hey, it was like telling his wife to push in the labour room! Patience...

Well, what can I say about our civilized society...

Reach campus around 11.30pm. Sigh... longest trip ever...

Ok, going for CF camp today. Till I blog again...

Youth Camp

Back in campus again... Had a bad trip down yesterday. Miss my bus at 1 o'clock. Wasted my money and had to fork out another RM13.75 buy another ticket from another bus company. The bus was so old and its engin roars like a lion. So loud! Even worse, the driver was so slow and we even had to change bus mid way. A normal trip of 5 hours ended up an hour longer. Never to take that bus again. (won't mention what company is that)

Anyway, kinda sad that I didn't make it for GYouth Camp this year. Really miss the time where we just spend 5 days solid days of seeking God, away from all other distraction. Not too mention the fun and fellowship with all GY people. Really miss you guys! Not going really makes me appreciate the days spend at camp even more.

Not wanting to complain, but kinda miss those worship service we had during GY. Here, in CF meetings, its like singspiration, sing a long thingy. They emphasize a lot on Bible Study, and some times it is so deep, I feel as though I'm attending a thelogy class or something. But it helped me understand the Bible better.
Another thing I learnt - Its good to have corporate worship at least once a week during Sundays.

Signed up for the CF annual camp next week. So just wait and see what's install there!

A Tour Round Singapore

Had a good tour today...

Objective: To see more of Singapore by bus (I like to travel mah...).
To pass away time

Report:

Left campus around 11am. Boarded bus to Boon Lay interchange. From there took another bus to Bedok with is on the other side of Singapore. One and a half hour. A lot of industrial area, beautiful houses, parks and pass the port. And yeah, not to forget, Malaysia's own KTM train station. The building is like one of those colonial buildings. Awesome! Rare in Singapore.

Had lunch in the hawker center. But still, nothing beat Malaysian's hawkers. Went window shopping in the area. From Bedok, took the mrt to Changi Airport. Upon arrival, saw a group of security officers patrolling the terminals. See also scared. Kia su and kia si! Went round the airport about half an hour. Feel that KLIA is still nicer from the outside. Go Malaysia!!

Next stop, Pasir Ris which is on the east side. Nothing much to see except high rise apartments. Basically their housing estate serupa aje... tak original la. Anyway, the bus took me to the north eastern (Punggol) side of the island. Then came to Toa Payoh, which is somewhere in the middle.

Again, went walking round the area. Then took a bus back to Boon Lay. Arrived at 6pm. By then, exhausted. Had to rush back for Scrabble training. Good thing manage to steal some time to nap a while.

Comment: Worth while trip. Easy to find my way around with a little directory book. Find that Singapore is ultra neat. Bit fake la... shhh.....Every where is almost the same style of developement plan. Shopping mall, mrt, bus interchange, community center... Lack uniqeness. Or is it uniquely Singapore?

Ok. Time to zzz... Gotta wake up early to leave here by 7am. I'm GOING HOME!!! yo mama!
